Pupil development co-ordinator by day, cake maker and wedding co-ordinator at the weekend!

I entered the industry by complete fluke, from a piece of cake made for my own consumption and a chance tasting by a co-worker, Irie Cakes Creole was born. I started with birthday cakes and progressed to wedding cakes.

I had been booked by a bride and groom to do their wedding cake, and on the final consultation the bride said she was stressed trying to get everybody else involved with the wedding together. I recommended she use a wedding co-ordinator, the budget had already been stressed to the limit, so I said I would help her as I would be there on the day anyway. The day was a success, both bride and groom were very happy, 'Creole Weddings' had its first unofficial booking.

The smiles on the bride and groom's faces, and the guests having a good time made me realise this is the industry I really want to be in. I have done a Wedding Planner course which I really enjoyed and learned a lot from. I believe the run up to the wedding should be part of all the excitement, if your stressed about details you miss out on that, that's what I'm here for, to take that stress away.

Creole Weddings was officially launched after years spent making cakes for friends and family, (Angie is known locally as Irie Cakes Creole) encouraged by their support and lack of good Caribbean cake makers, Angie set out to offer an impeccable service to her clientele, never compromising on taste. Creole weddings also cater for different dietary needs including diabetic, egg and/or gluten free..

"Every cake I make is made from natural ingredients and I pride myself on delivering exactly what my clients want, both visually and taste" explains Angie Recently when delivering a cake to a wedding venue, Angie discovered a bride in tears because two of her suppliers were late and had let her down. Angie managed to calm down the bride, get on the phone and pull everyone together. The wedding was a success and since then Angie has trained in wedding planning and now offers wedding co-ordination and party planning alongside her cake design.

Consultations - I would be happy to meet with you and discuss your occasion details.

I give a Free consultation which lasts between 1-2 hours, this enables you to get to know me and for me to get a flavour of your vision for your special day and also discuss the all important budget. I will review your 'wish list' and provide a quote for you within 10 days of the consultation. If you are happy with what I have produced for you, we can begin the fun part of planning your wedding.

Wedding Planning and Co-ordination - Every bride has an idea of what her Wedding day will be like, but sometimes gets confused with the amount of choices available, we will go through every detail of the wedding day together so your day is worry free and runs smoothly. If you have already hired your caterer, D.J, florist etc, I can be at the venue to make sure everything is in place and running smoothly. The build up to the wedding should be part of the excitement, having me there on your day to deal with the little details should leave you free to enjoy it.

Cakes - Caribbean and European cakes for all occasions, Weddings, Birthdays, Anniversaries Baby showers, Christenings the list is endless. All my cakes are baked with natural ingredients and come in different sizes, flavours and designs. I also cater for different dietary needs, which include egg free, diabetic and gluten free cakes.

Venue Decorating - Your Wedding could be elegant, chic or ghetto fabulous, the styling of your tables can make a big difference to the overall look of your venue. Creole Weddings can provide a decoration package to suit your budget which will save on individually priced items while giving you a first class service. Our Wedding hire packages are for wedding for up to one hundred (100) people including the wedding party, there are no hidden extras, everything listed within the package is in the price. On our consultation we will discuss your requirements and show you samples so you can see the items you are hiring. There are three (3) different Packages available, Silver, Gold and Platinum.

As with all brides I was incredibly nervous about contracting-out any aspect of my big day for fear that things would not look or go according to plan and booking Angie was literally one of the best things I ever did!

I met Angie at the mahogany bridal show and she had one of her fabulous cakes on display which was exactly what I was looking for as it matched my theme and looked original. I got her card and phoned her up to book an appointment and the rest is history.

I remember going to meet with her, with my (then) fiancé and our (then) 2 and a half year old son, being excited about the cake and it was like reacquainting with a long lost relative, we really hit it off and she was wonderful. Looking through her portfolio was amazing and she has truly done some amazing creations. I told her my vision and she showed me actual examples which were similar and that she had actually done, as well as ways of matching my other ideas. By the time we left I had enlisted not only make cake, but all decorations in Angie's hands and I was not daunted by this responsibility either

The cake tasting session just confirmed we were right to enlist her services and I challenge anyone to find a better cake maker because my husband and son were asking for more and they don't normally eat cake!!! Angie's ideas were great and made our cake a one-of-a-kind but still kept with our theme, the cake toppers I chose myself from her selection and the extra additions she put in such as flowers and gold dust coming out of the waterfall (yes waterfall!) were amazing! The pictures speak for themselves and you can see my reaction in our wedding video when I see the cake for the first time going "Wow honey look at our cake". Every one of our guests took pictures by the cake and that was one of the prominent comments we got after our wedding.

I could go on forever, but Angie did a great job and our MC mentioned her at the wedding to a rapturous applause for her work decorating the venue and on during the reception she continued to provide an excellent service looking after everything right till the end in a non-evasive way. She became a part of the family that day.

Our reception venue at the Hilton was two very large function rooms, which we opened into one, so it was a huge challenge to decorate. She set up her own appointments with the venue (outside of the one's we had with her) and was always punctual and organized.

She sent me photo's so we did not always have to meet up with her and helped to create the perfect unique centre pieces, like our gold and white flowers in a champagne style glass with mirror's at the bottom, which exceeded my specification and I could not find anywhere else. She liaised with our lighting guys and hotel staff who were unsure of who to contact as we were obviously at the church.

Our wedding was perfect and the pictures show it and Angie did it all. Her prices were so reasonable and fair which also helped but she was a 'one-stop-shop' so I didn't have to worry about anything and I cannot find even one tiny thing to complain about! Without her my wedding day would not have been the same and we have kept that bond going by asking her to do cakes for all our birthdays and events since then, whilst my parents have hired her services for their charity functions.

It is so hard to trust that your vision on your wedding day will come out the way you hoped and that you can find someone trustworthy to deliver and for us it was a big risk asking someone we didn't know but it turned out better than we could imagine and I would whole-heartedly recommend Angie for anyone's event. It will be amazing and original!
